A-414 Batik Painting (SP26) (April 22, 2026)

Ages 18+

The hot wax dye process of batik will be used to create unique paintings on cotton. We start by applying wax to save the white areas and continue applying dyes as we paint the picture. The entire painting will be soaked in black dye to create the "batik" look. When the wax is melted off, the painting is complete. All materials included.

Cancellation Policy: Registrations may be cancelled up to seven days before the start of class by contacting the office. Cancellation of this class will result in a $25 cancellation fee, to be deducted from the refund amount.

Use the traditional arts of applique´ and embroidery to turn an ordinary denim jacket into a unique work of art. You supply the jacket; we provide the rest of the supplies. No previous needlework experience is necessary. All materials included.

A-416 Hand Stitched Collage Book (SP26) (April 27, 2026)

Come design and hand stitch a fabric book featuring 6 pages of simple images related to your chosen theme. We’ll make images using accessible-to-anyone hand stitching skills including raw-edged applique and a few embroidery stitches. This is a relaxed, experience! No prior stitching experience necessary. All materials included. Bring fabric scissors if you have them.

Add a bit of unexpected color and detail to your life while having fun learning the basics of tablet weaving, both on and off a loom. You can expect to take home two completed projects; a pair of shoe-laces and a second project of your choice.
