  Liven up your holiday decorations with a hand built ginger-bread house made out of clay. We will be using templates, slabs, sprig molds, stamps, and shape cutters to create our "candy" decorated houses. The houses will be finished with a variety of colorful ceramic glazes making them irresistible. All materials included.

  Let's involve your tactile senses to slab build a clay mug and select a glaze to finish the mug. Now the real fun begins! At the 2nd class, use your new mug as we will dive into the world of coffee with a certified coffee master. Explore the journey from bean to cup of the most popular drink around the world. You will have the opportunity to taste a variety of coffees (with food pairings) and learn about the "roast curve" while you find the perfect blend for you! All materials included.

  The hot wax dye process of batik will be used to create unique paintings on cotton. We will start by applying wax to save the white areas and continue applying dyes as we paint the picture. The entire painting will be soaked in black dye to create the "batik" look. The wax will be melted off and the painting is complete. All materials included.

All skill levels welcome as we review the supplies and processes to complete works of art. Students will be able to work along with the instructor, as well as work on individual projects.   Ice will work with the dyes to create with the colors of the rainbow. We will be using some simple tie dyeing techniques in this unique and fun way to make ice work for us. Please bring two items for dyeing. The items must be a natural fiber: cotton, bamboo, rayon, silk, wool, linen.   In Spring and at Easter, Pysanky are a tradition in Eastern Europe. This batik method of applying layers of beeswax and egg dye to the eggs creates intricate and beautiful designs.
